Kevin McArthur has finished the winter golf season in style by winning both Rolies Winter Knockout and the Daily Mail Foursomes by the same 3 & 2 margins.
In the final of the Winter Knockout, Kevin and his playing partner Kevin Garrett were in a tight match against Jim Whitehead & Steve Orchard when he hit the perfect 4 iron to the 15th hole, pitching it 6 inches past the hole and the ball spinning back into the cup. They then secured the match on the 16th.
The previous week Kevin & Keith Wright had played in the final of the Daily Mail Foursomes against David Cooke & Paul Gardner. Kevin & Keith seemed to be cruising to victory, taking a 4 hole lead by the turn, but Paul & David had reduced the deficit to only 2 by the 16th hole. However a very good par from Keith & Kevin proved enough to secure the victory.
Keith Wright kept up his run of good form with a gross 1 under par 68 for 42 points in the Sunday Stableford. This won him the 1st Division by 3 points from Ryan Harmer. Both players have now seen their handicap cut to 4
In the 2nd Division Richard Couse won with 40 points, John Griffiths was 2nd on 37 points & Geoff Smith took 3rd spot with 36, on count back from John Riddelsdell

On Saturday Freshwater Bay held a Mystery Pairs Stableford, and surprisingly none of the top 3 individual scores featured in the top 3 pair scores! Colin Jones scored 39 points, with Richard Frost & Geoff Smith scoring 38 points. However, the winning pair was Tony Keen & Fred Smith, from Dot Porter & Kevin Garrett, John Sexton & Ryan Harmer were 3rd, with Derek Wright & Hugh Morrison in 4th. All 4 pairs had an aggregate total of 72 points, with Tony & Fred winning on the back 6!
