Considering the freshening breeze testing the players it was
somewhat of a surprise not to see a Freshwater Bay pair having the best score
on Sunday at the FBGC Mixed Open.

However, the pair of Ian Ralph from
Cowes and Perdita Potter from Osborne played excellent golf to score the day’s
best round of 41 points.

The winners of the Nerissa Groombridge
Trophy for the best home player score was the father and daughter
combination of John & Lucy Burke, with 40 points. This was one point ahead
of Fred and Anne Smith on 39 points.
At the presentation the Lady Captain, Joan Martin, thanked
all the players, especially those from the other Island Clubs, for supporting
the event and making the day such a success.
