Summer Competitions - Results

BARTON CUP – The all junior pairing of Ryan Harmer & Conor White proved just too strong for John Crosbie & Dean Capel in the final.

HARDING CUP – Joan Martin & Rick Penn ran out comfortable winners in the final against Sue Oldershaw & Dave Wright, winning 4 & 3.

KNILL JONES – Another 4 & 3 result, with Ryan Harmer reeling off 4 straight birdies from the 10th to triumph over Kevin Garrett.

McCAUL CUP – Probably the pick of the finals in terms of quality. Jim Whitehead finally beat Steve Sargeant on the 17th, with both players playing well below their handicaps.

MILLWAY CUP – This cup is awarded for the best 6 medal results returned by the participants over the summer months. At the top of the leaderboard there was a tie between last year’s winner Keith Wright & Rick Penn who both had 410 for their top 6 scores. Winning on the Duckworth/Lewis/Garrett method was Rick. Keith thought it should be like the Ryder Cup, with the holder retaining the trophy in the event of a tie. How wrong can you be!!

SUMMER ECELECTIC – Winning the competition for the 3rd time in 4 years was Pete Bryan with a nett 53. In joint second were Richard Leppard and James Sanders with 56.5. (James would’ve been 2nd on his own apart from the fact that he played on the last day of the competition and got cut from 6 to 5!)
