Freshwater Bay Members are doing rather well at the moment.

George Faulkner has been selected to go to the EGU Under 16 Regional Trials. Considering that at the moment George is still an Under 14 makes this achievement all the more noteworthy.

Ryan Harmer came joint 2nd in the Scratch and 3rd in the Handicap in the Hampshire Junior Tour Order of Merit. Ranking points are allocated throughout the summer for Hampshire Junior Opens, and so to achieve this high a ranking with the stretch of water preventing Ryan playing in all the events shows how consistently good he has become.

The 2012 winners of the Roger Webb Trophy (Isle of Wight mixed Foursomes) are Liz Morris and John Crosbie. Liz’s comments that “it was a strange game” seem to be borne out by the fact that from 4 holes down Liz and John went on to win 4 & 3.

In the Hayling Centenary Salver the team of Joan Martin, Sue Oldershaw, Gail Brown & Pat Long came 2nd with a nett 66.

The Freshwater Ladies raised over £600 for The Earl Mountbatten Hospice with their Sunflower Tea Party. It was a superbly run day, and for that thanks must go to everyone who contributed, whether it be time, cakes, tables & chairs, raffle prizes etc
